You can now make a perfectly wonderful website for yourself without knowing a slick of html or css coding.
You have to know something, though, and you will. With expert guidance and few hours of concerted effort watching videos and working on a practice site, you can soon be soaring with the best of them, working a slot and filler system like a pro.
A PRO WORKS FROM A PLAN
Before you log in and start typing all over the place, write out a statement of purpose (the goals you expect to meet through your website). That guides all your decisions.
Develop a purposeful site structure accordingly (Step A).
Prepare all the text and gather all the assets (webspeak for non-text site elements) that will go into each section.
Then sketch out the way you will present your content on pages. (Step B)
THEN you're ready to start typing and placing assets, first as a draft.
Finish the draft site and download a copy of it to your desktop.
Finally, start applying widgets and filling them with content.
